Renee Petro is the mother of two children, a young boy and girl. Her son, Brandon, suffers from a rare form of childhood epilepsy called FIRES. The mother spends much of her time fighting this potentially fatal disease in her child, using whatever means she
can to save her youngster.
In March, officials from the state Child Protective Services department showed up at the family's home, accusing her of administering cannabis oil to her child, in order to treat his symptoms. She denies the allegations.
Renee Petro is, however, a vocal advocate for medical marijuana, in Florida and around the nation. Her group, Cannamoms, is quickly becoming a voice for reform of cannabis laws in a quickly-growing movement.
In this interview, Peetro talks about the medical marijuana movement, as well as her experiences when the state government came to her home. [Source]
